Eligibility Criteria for Junior Translator vacancy, Supreme Court Recruitment

Supreme Court of India set up some eligibility criteria for the post of Junior Translator. We are going to discuss about these eligibility criteria

Qualification

  • Candidate must have Graduated from recognized University with English & one regional language for which the vacancy is published.
  • Two years experience in translation work from English to Regional language and vice-versa in any Govt. or reputed Private Institution.
  • Proficiency in computer operations and knowledge of relevant office packages viz., word processing in English and regional language.
  • Regional languages = Assamese, Bengali, Telugu, Gujarati, Urdu, Marathi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi and Nepali.

Age Limit

Candidates applying for the post of Junior Translator should be above 18 years and
below 32 years of age
. Usual relaxation in age will be admissible to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-Servicemen and Dependents of Freedom Fighter Category as per Government Rules.

Salary for Junior Translator in Supreme court of India

Posts of Court Assistant(Junior Translator) placed in Level 7 of the Pay Matrix with initial Basic Pay of Rs.44,900/-.

Registration of application and payment of fee

Eligible candidates should apply online by using link provided on the Supreme Court website, www.sci.gov.in. The application will be accepted only through online registration, which is expected to begin at 00.00 hours on April 18, 2022. Candidates who have previously applied do not need to apply again.

Candidates must pay a non-refundable application/test fee of Rs.500/- for General/OBC candidates. Rs.250/- will be paid by SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PH candidates/freedom dependents.

The fee must be paid online through the UCO payment gateway.

Scheme of Examination for Junior Translator In Supreme Court of India

The candidates will first be subjected to Objective Type Written Test and Translation Test and those who qualify both the tests will be called for English and language proficiency test on Computer to ascertain typing speed in English and respective vernacular languages.

The candidates who qualify in all the tests will then be called for an interview (Viva). The candidates who qualify the Interview by securing minimum qualifying or more marks will be empaneled in the order of merit for appointment as Junior Translator.

Written Test

(a) A Written Test of General English and General Knowledge with multiple choice answers (Objective Type) carrying 30 marks.
(b) Translation from English to Vernacular Language of State carrying 60 marks.
(c) Translation from Vernacular Language to English Language carrying 60 marks.

Typing Test

Typing Speed Test on computer at the speed of 35 w.p.m. (English) and 25w.p.m (Vernacular language) Maximum permissible mistakes 5% of the total words typed
(a) English 10 marks
(b) Vernacular 10 marks

Viva

There will be a Viva Test carrying 30 marks

Total Test Marks will be 200 Marks. candidates have to obtained 60% marks in Each section to Qualify the test.

Important Dates

The starting date for online registration of application is 18.04.2022 at 00.00 hours

Last date thereof is 14.05.2022 at 23.59 hours
